Pro Bass Fisherman Jonathan Carter to speak at Outdoors Expo

Jonathan Carter, a native of Orrington, burst onto the national stage in 2013 when he became the first Mainer to ever compete in the sport’s biggest event, the Bassmaster Classic.

Carter immediately caught the attention of fellow competitors and bass fishing fans when he finished the first day of the event in seventh place. Carter remained in seventh after two days and eventually finished 17th while fishing alongside some of the biggest names in the sport.

Carter is an elementary school teacher in South Portland and regularly travels to compete in state and regional bass tournaments and hopes to earn another spot in the Bassmaster Classic.

Jonathan will be speaking at the BDN Maine Outdoors Expo on Saturday at 5 pm.
