Presentation on becoming and outdoor woman by Emily Maccabe at the Outdoors Expo

The Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program (BOW) provides opportunity for women who are 18 years or older to gain or improve skills in hunting, fishing an outdoor education in a safe and comfortable environment.  Emily MacCabe is an Outdoor Educator at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife and also the State Coordinator for the BOW program here in Maine.  BOW workshops are held throughout the state each year and cover topics ranging from shooting sports, fly fishing, canoeing and camping to outdoor survival, self-defense tactics and wild game cooking. The program is designed to help remove barriers that often prevent women from getting involved in outdoor activities.  BOW’s talented volunteer instructors and staff strive to provide ample opportunity for women to explore, learn and succeed in the Maine outdoors.   Learn more about the program and visit

Emily will be presenting from 1 – 1:30 pm on Sunday May 5 at the BDN Maine Outdoors Expo
